Deliverability is a shared responsibility between the email provider and the sender.

Not everyone is an email expert, and that's okay. By following best practices, you can improve your chances of landing in the inbox instead of the spam folder.

How we got here

As we've helped companies of all sizes improve their deliverability, we often recommended the same best practices over and over, and have created a lot of educational content to help educate our customers.

Last year, we created an internal tool to help our support team when there were deliverability questions. When we realized how useful the internal tool was, we built the feature into Resend and released it in beta.

Insights that needs attention

Today, we're excited to announce that Deliverability Insights is now generally available for free for all Resend users.

How Deliverability Insights has helped senders

Since its introduction in beta, senders have run 56,389 checks with 445,178 individual insights provided.

Additionally, 10,639 teams used Deliverability Insights to improve their email sending practices by fixing issues and then rerunning the checks.

How to use it

While viewing any email in Resend, select the Insights tab. This will check your email in multiple ways to ensure it has the best chance to reach the inbox.

We break these insights into three categories:

1. Needs attention

These are changes that will align your email with industry best practices such as:

  • Keep email body size small
  • DMARC record is valid
  • Link URLs match sending domain
  • Include plain text version
  • Don't use "no-reply"

2. Possible improvements

These are optimizations that could improve your deliverability like:

  • Disable click tracking
  • Disable open tracking
  • Use a subdomain

3. Doing great

If a check passes, you'll see a green check. This means you're following best practices and are one step closer to ensuring your emails land in the inbox.

The goal: reach the inbox

Resend has always focused on helping senders land in inboxes and we're excited to see how Deliverability Insights continue to help teams improve these email sending practices.
